2024 Winter Symposium Recap
Another successful Winter Symposium is in the books! The weather held out for us this year, with only some minor snow on Wednesday morning. It didn’t hinder the turnout of our attendees and vendors who arrived bright and early. Our programing this year not only include sessions for pesticide credits, but more diverse topics such as pergolas and outdoor structures, native plant sales, and leadership strategies for managers and owners. We can’t thank our presenters enough for helping to make this an informative and exciting event! This also wouldn’t be possible without our sponsors and the hardworking CNLA Winter Symposium Committee.
In addition to the presentations, the Winter Symposium hosted the Connecticut Nurseryman’s Foundation and Connecticut Nursery and Landscape Association’s annual meetings. Lindsay Curran was awarded the CNLA Young Nursery Professional Award and Sarah Bailey was awarded the President’s Award. A new board of directors was voted in for 2024 with Chris Valley, CANP, as President, Matt Fitzpatrick, CANP, as Vice President, Kyle Roller, CANP as Secretary/Treasurer, Dustyn Nelson, CANP, as Immediate Past President, and Chris Goodwin, Cecilia Keneally, Dan Maki, CANP, Bill Palmer, CANP, and Amanda Pezzullo, CANP, as Directors. At the Annual Meeting welcomed 15 new CANP’s after passing their test in November. After the last day of the Winter Symposium, a makeup CANP exam was given. Following that exam, 5 more students received their CANP certification.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2024 CNLA Winter Symposium!
